Hiking
Immerse yourself in the greenery and breathe in the fresh mountain air. The excursions of Alta Valsassina and Alta Valvarrone are numerous and of various levels, many also suitable for families. All our accommodations are excellent starting points for your days discovering paths and panoramic views. The routes are sufficiently marked with special signs that specify the achievable destinations and travel times. Many excursions are also practicable in the winter months with snowshoes or mountaineering skis. We are gladly at your disposal for advice and information on suggestive itineraries to discover during your stay.
Mountain climbing
Explore the high mountains and reach important peaks of the Orobic Prealps. For the more adventurous and trained, the mid-mountain routes continue at higher altitudes: the vegetation changes, the air becomes even colder and the panorama increasingly breathtaking. Among the most important peaks we remember Pizzo dei Tre Signori, in Alta Valvarrone, Pizzo Alto, above Premana, and the Grigne complex, in Valsassina. Some peaks can also be reached in winter version!
Choosing to stay in one of our huts or our apartments the day before and the same evening that you face an important excursion is the ideal solution to leave rested in the morning and to enjoy the well-deserved relaxation on your return.
E-Bike
Our mountains are full of agro-forestry-pastoral circuits and roads ideal for suggestive e-bike tours, the best way to conquer those destinations that would be too far and tiring during the day and on foot. Nothing better than reaching our shelters by e-bike for a good lunch in the open air and in good company! For those who are approaching this wonderful activity for the first time, we recommend renting an e-bike and booking a tour with a certified guide. Adventure Park
An exciting and adrenaline-pumping activity for young and old! At Pian delle Betulle (Margno), the Jungle Rider Park offers exciting adventure trails between pulleys, Nepalese bridges and stairs suspended in the air among the larch trees of the forest. The park offers different routes suitable for everyone. The Jungle Rider Park can be reached by cable car from Margno or on foot from Alpe di Paglio in about twenty minutes.
Eating in the mountains
Whether it's an excursion, a walk or an e-bike tour, a lunch in the mountain huts and mountain huts in our valleys is a must to crown the day! They are an excellent opportunity to taste typical dishes and to enjoy the warm sun of the high mountains. Lake Como
A known, surprising and suggestive destination a few kilometers from us. During your stay in Alta Valsassina a day dedicated to the wonderful Lake Como is highly recommended. The Lecco shore of the lake, reachable in about 35 minutes by car, is full of bathing beaches, water activities such as windsurfing and canoeing and fascinating historic villages such as Bellano and Varenna. Important places such as Bellagio, the Pearl of Lake Como and Menaggio can also be visited within a day by ferry.
Valsassina
Other activities and views for your days outdoors. Coming down from Margno you can reach Taceno and Valsassina in a few minutes, entirely connected by a flat cycle path with kiosks and playgrounds, suitable for families and more. For the more sporty, the Sasso di Introbio is known for rock climbing with specially equipped itineraries. Numerous renowned hiking trails and tours also depart from the villages of Valsassina, in particular the Grigne group and Val Biandino. In winter, the best known destination are the Piani di Bobbio, a ski area together with Valtorta.
Cultural tourism
The villages of Alta Valsassina are strongly rooted in their centuries-old traditions, which are still alive and felt. Traditions and historical-cultural heritage that can be discovered thanks to the museum offer of the area: the Ethnographic Museum of Premana, to learn the phases of iron working and what was the daily life of the Premanesi of the past; the Cantar di Pietra di Tremenico Museum, interactive and experiential, to discover life in the mines and quarries of the town; the Museum of milk and the history of the muggiasca of Vendrogno which explains the processing of milk, handed down from generation to generation up to the present day.
